What Will I Do?

The College Visions process begins in the spring of your junior year and continues until you enter college 12-16 months later. In July and August before your senior year, you'll attend a series of workshops on the college process.

These workshops include:

• Learning how to do college searches on the web
• College terminology, including the differences between different degrees
• Brainstorming for your college essay
• Preparing a resume
• What to expect when you get to college

Our workshops are full of games and community-building exercises to help you get the most out of your college preparation. You'll be doing these activities with peers going through the same process, asking the same questions.

During your senior year you will have regular, one-on-one meetings with your college advisor. Your advisor will help you through all parts of the application process, from writing an essay to applying for scholarships. You'll also join us on a series of college visits around New England and beyond. Once your acceptance letters come in, you and your advisor will work together to make the best choice for your higher education.

College Visions advisors know that when it comes to applying for college, financial concerns are of utmost importance. We will work with you and your family to make sure college is affordable for you. We hold workshops for you and your family to fill out financial aid forms. When your financial aid packages come in the spring, your advisor will help you analyze the packages to choose the one that's right for you and your family.

Your College Visions advisor will maintain regular and close contact with you through your senior year and beyond, ensuring that you get personalized attention available nowhere else.
